Naturally if any one group would own a programme it is only fair they brand it themselves. So what name should one call a programme of this significance? Naturally since the whole thing is about computers, one may expect the mention of the words computers, access, enter, drive and so on in a brand name.
Others may even dare to postulate some name or acronym with IT in it. Interestingly the creative team that stormed their minds and the conceptual horizon for names thought in some of these directions.
Until it became clear that ultimately the one important element this programme would be effectual for would be to improve the quality of life of the every day Ghanaian, and that was it, iAdvance was conceived.
The one essence this programme aims to achieve is to the move forward the life of every Ghanaian via the use of his or her own personal computer, a better faster and maybe more efficient tool.
For the individual it proves to be a far better word processor, a far quicker means to access, process information and data.
Any profession in today’s world would find the computer functional for so many profitable reasons.
Employers would find it useful to increase productivity at work, build a corporate profile retain and adroitly capacitate good staff. It could even give employees constructive ways to unwind.
Employees who get one would find the thrill of getting to know their computer maybe even more fascinating than the thrill of getting to know some new home appliance or some new electronic TV or music system. He or she would find cyber travel near limitless and equally fascinating by browses hours on end in the comfort of his or her own home-without the accompanying occasional hassles at cyber cafes.
The future would belong to the IT compatible and those who get to know IT. It’s the government’s belief, Intel and Microsoft’s belief that Ghana should know IT to grow the integral elements of nation building-prosperous nation building at that and this is being expressed by their fastidious commitment to this programme. As we look over horizon of time and look forward to the feats this great nation would achieve through IT, it would be appropriate to declare, great people of the Republic of Ghana it is time to advance!!!
